1992-2002
Section
In 1992 Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Pollution and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food issued draft authorisations under the Radioactive Substances Act 1960 proposing new limits on the radioactive content of discharges by British Nuclear Fuels Limited from Sellafield. The Environment Agency began a re-examination under the Radioactive Substances Act 1993 (RSA 93) of the gaseous and liquid discharge authorisations in early 1996 and a full re-examination in April 2000. Wilkinson acted as a peer reviewer of this process.
