The Pig Iron Producers' Conference was one of the British Iron and Steel Federation's producers' conferences. Its constituent associations were the National Association of Hematite Pig Iron Makers and the Basic Pig Iron Producers' Association. All were dissolved with effect from 31 December 1967.
Material for deposit was selected by the UK Steel Association. A preliminary sorting was supervised by Mr E.J.G. Good, a former Director of UKSA, who arranged and catalogued the material.
Open
The rest of these deposits consisted of records of the UK Steel Association, earlier the British Independent Steel Producers Association (BISPA) and the British Iron and Steel Producers Association, and predecessors. The Centre also holds records of the British Iron and Steel Federation and associated bodies.
