Admin history
  • The Oldham Tin Plate Workers' Society was formed in 1844. It was affiliated to the General Tramping Union of Tin-Plate Workers/General Union of Braziers and Sheet Metal Workers from 1861 and joined the National Amalgamated Tin-Plate Workers of Great Britain in 1899. It amalgamated with other affiliated societies in 1920 to form the National Union of Sheet Metal Workers and Braziers. It may have actually been renamed the Oldham Tin Plate Workers' Trade Union before 1913.
