The National Communications Union was formed in 1985 by the amalgamation of the Post Office Engineering Union with the Postal and Telecommunications Group of the Civil and Public Services Association. In January 1995 it merged with the Union of Communication Workers to form the Communication Workers' Union.
The Modern Records Centre also holds records of the Post Office Engineering Union and the Communication Workers Union.
