Admin history
  • The Miners' Federation of Great Britain (MFGB) was formed in 1880 as a federation of a number of local miners' associations. It was renamed the Mineworkers' Federation of Great Britain in 1932. In January 1945 it reorganised as a unified trade union, the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM), with each former constituent association becoming a district of the new union.
