  • Paul Tofahrn (1901-1979) had a lifetime's involvement with the Belgian, European and international labour movement. In May 1940 he came to live in the village of Bromham in Bedfordshire where he joined the local Home Guard and met John Arundel's grandfather, Tom Northern (1890-1975), teacher and fellow socialist. The original recording was made at Tofahrn's house as part of an unfinished 16mm film by John Arundel about Tom Northern.
  • The Centre also holds Paul Tofahrn's own papers.
