S for Son: fulfilling Hannah's wishes. A for "Always obedient". This was the reason for his success. M for Manly. He was a good boy, but was also very courageous and honest. U for Unselfish. He gave up any claim to position or power when the people demanded a King. E for "Earnest in Purpose". He did not give in to difficulties. L for "Loving in Disposition". We know this because the whole of Israel mourned his loss.
