Wyn Grant was born in 1947 and was educated at the universities of Leicester, Strathclyde and Exeter. He was appointed a lecturer in politics at Warwick University in 1971 and became a member of the Department of Politics and International Studies. His research interests included government-business relations, pressure groups and economic and industrial policy, comparative public policy, in particular environmental policy (especially air pollution and also global warming) and agricultural policy. He was appointed the first Marshall-Monnet fellow at the University of Washington, Seattle.
