	Hibbitt joined the London office staff as an office boy in 1911 and worked in the Statistical Department from its creation in the early 1920s until his retirement in 1961. In about 1940 he became head of the Statistical Department. The memoirs include comments on office practice and record keeping systems.
	The archive can be consulted only with the prior written permission of the depositor. Please contact the Modern Records Centre for further details. A 20 year closure rule applies to all material, except circulars, deposited since 1996.
