The National Union of Dyers, Bleachers and Textile Workers was formed in 1936 by the amalgamation of the Operative Bleachers, Dyers and Finishers' Association, Bolton Amalgamation, the National Union of Textile Workers, and the Amalgamated Society of Dyers, Bleachers, Finishers and Kindred Trades. It absorbed the Yorkshire Society of Textile Craftsmen in 1980. It amalgamated with the Transport and General Workers' Union in 1982.
