The collection forms part of the archive of the British Clothing Industry Association (MSS.222), in which the records of various predecessor and related organisations are contained.
The British Corset Manufacturers' Association Ltd. was founded in 1914 and went into voluntary liquidation in 1936. Re-emerging as the Corset Trade Association of Great Britain, it became the Corsetry Manufacturers' Association in mid-1954, and was one of the original constituents of the British Clothing Industry Association upon its establishment in 1980-1.
This collection has been weeded for duplicates.
The records of similar associations can also be found within MSS.222.
