  • This establishment of this Project Group was referred to in the minutes of the meeting of the Social Work Practice with Children and Families Advisory Panel of 3 July 1981, which was commenting on the draft boarding out regulations drawn up by the National Foster Care Association. The Group consisted of members of the Advisory Panel and two non-members and held its first meeting on 5 October 1981. It was then decided that its remit would be wider than simply the boarding out regulations: it would be wise to draw up a code of practice on social work in foster care. A series of five further meetings was planned. The Group's draft "Code of Practice in Family Placement" and its report entitled "Guidelines for Practice in Family Placement" both appeared in April 1982 . Its last meeting was arranged for 16 April 1982.
