The Professional Development and Practice Committee was formed in July 1970, and was meeting as such until July 1979; its term of office came to an end in September 1979. It was effectively replaced by the Professional Practice Divisional Committee. The committee dealt with issues including post-qualification training, ethics, the organisation of social work services, and relevant social issues.
