This Working Party reported to the Professional Development and Practice Committee. Its remit was "to present guidelines for the establishment of Private Practice Social Work", to indicate BASW's role "in regulating Private Practice Social Work", and "with regard to the protection of Private Practice Social Workers", and to consider the "problems and prospects of Private Practice Social Work when undertaken mainly by social workers in the Public Services". There were five meetings from 27 September 1978 to 28 March 1979 and a draft report was produced in April 1979.
