BASW headquarters were on the 2nd and 3rd floors of 42 Bedford Square, London WC1, until September 1973, when they moved to 16 Kent Street, Birmingham. 42 Bedford Square was formerly the headquarters of the Institute of Medical Social Workers. 16 Kent Street also had a wing fronting onto Lower Essex Street, which was initially sublet, but which was reoccupied by BASW in June 1977.
