Formed in 1882 by the amalgamation of the United Cotton Spinners of Bolton and the Bolton Self-Actor Minders' Society. It had branches in Manchester, Leigh, Farnworth, Atherton and Reddish, with Chorley and Tyldesley joining in 1883 and Hindley and Pendlebury in 1885. It had 2,757 members in 1912. Renamed the Bolton Provincial Association of Operative Spinners and Twiners sometime after 1912.
