	This was a company established by the BISF to undertake the central purchase and distribution of imported pig-iron, scrap and semi-finished steel. Its export department also acted, under the British Steel Export Association, as agent for the heavy steel producers in export transactions. On the dissolution of the BISF in October 1967, the whole of the company's share capital was acquired by the British Steel Corporation.
