  • Bexley Division comprised the following wards in 1947: Christchurch, Brampton, Falconwood, Danson, St. Michael's, St. Mary's. The Labour Party took control of Bexley Borough Council in 1945 but lost power to the Conservatives in May 1949. The MP for Bexley in this period was a Labour member, Earnest Ashley Bramall, who was elected in a by-election of July 1946. He contributed regular reports to the newsletter, which was first published by the Bexley Divisional Labour Party in February 1947.

The archives of the national Labour Party are held at the Labour History Archive and Study Centre in Manchester.
