The Ashton-under-Lyne and District Society of Braziers and Sheet Metal Workers was formed in 1825. It joined the National Amalgamated Sheet Metal Workers and Braziers in 1912 and amalgamated with other affiliated societies in 1920 to form the National Union of Sheet Metal Workers and Braziers, of which it remained a branch.
