Early 1919 saw widespread strike action in areas of Scotland on the issue of a 40 hour week. On 31 Jan 1919 ("Bloody Friday") fierce fighting between strikers and police took place in Glasgow. Troops were later sent in.
Pamphlet includes manifesto of the Joint Strike Committee, Glasgow, and photo of policeman hitting David Kirkwood with a baton.
