The records in this series come from the Statistical Department of the Federation. According to the memoirs of Sidney A Hibbitt [MSS.237/7/1], the Department was formed in the early 1920s. It undertook a great deal of retrospective research into such matters as wage rates and therefore some of the data presented in the records pre-dates the creation of the Federation.
The archive can be consulted only with the prior written permission of the depositor. Please contact the Modern Records Centre for further details. A 20 year closure rule applies to all material, except circulars, deposited since 1996.
