The Industrial Organisation Directorate existed, under the directorship of K.J. Johnson, only from 1965 to 1967 and consequently, few integral records have survived. It was concerned with the organisation and structure of trade associations and employers' organisations and with government policies towards industry, particularly the work of the National Economic Development Council. Much of its work was assumed by the Employment Affairs Directorate when Johnson became Director of Employment Affairs. Other work was taken up by the Economic Directorate.
