Series
The Building Guild was started in Manchester in January 1920. After that date a number of Guild Committees were formed to represent building workers outside of the London area. In London, The Guild of Builders (London) Limited was set up in April 1920 to represent that area.
In its 1920 prospectus, the Guild of Builders (London) Ltd reported that it has the same objectives as the Building Guild Limited and that it intended "to join hands in a National Guild, a great industrial combine for the public service...". Referring to the NFBTO, it also said that, "the Federation and the Guild are really the same people organised for different purposes: the Federation regulates industrial conditions, the Guild does the work...".
