The Working Party on Social Work Support for the Health Service was established following the passing of the Reorganisation Act and its receipt of the royal assent in July 1973, probably succeeding the Working Party on the Future of Health Service Social Work. The meeting on 31 August 1973 was the second one. It held nineteen meetings, the last apparently being that of 10 September 1975, after which it became a sub-committee of the Professional Practice Committee.
