"A news analysis for socialists". Although 'The Week' was produced by the International Group, it attracted wider socialist support - sponsors included Frank Allaun MP, Lawrence Daly, Peggy Duff, Trevor Griffiths, Eric Heffer MP, Ralph Miliband, Jim Mortimer, Bertrand Russell, Alan Sillitoe, E.P. Thompson, Raymond Williams and Konni Zilliacus MP.
The journal contained articles on British politics, trade unionism and the economy (including on the Labour Party Young Socialists and workers' control); international affairs (including Algeria, and the US civil rights movement and colonial independence movements); and regular coverage of pressure group campaigns, including those relating to the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), the Movement for Colonial Freedom (MCF), and the anti-apartheid and anti-Vietnam War movements, (including articles on the Vietnam Solidarity Campaign, set up by activists around the International Group in 1966).
