    An additional file of reminiscences of psychiatric social workers was deposited by Mrs S Malin in April 2011. This has been added to the catalogue.

  • The association was established in 1929. In 1970 the association merged with six other social workers' organisations to form the British Association of Social Workers.

  • The archives of BASW's predecessors were listed before their deposit in the Centre. The published catalogue is available for purchase. The archives of the different organisations are distinguished by different initials.
